Light Bulb Exchange at WeSERV Encourages Sustainability Measures
WeSERV Hosts a Light Bulb Exchange and Sustainability Class Open to the Public on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 8-9:30 a.m, or while supplies last.
The West and SouthEast REALTORS® of the Valley (WeSERV) is hosting a light bulb exchange on Monday, September 9, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at its West Valley Chapter office located at 9001 W Union Hills Dr, #8, Peoria, AZ. This event invites the public and WeSERV members to exchange their CFL incandescent light bulbs for LED A19 750 Lumen/9 Watt/60 Watt Equal 120 Volt medium base bulbs, with 2700 or 3000 Kelvin options, while supplies last.Roger Nelson, CEO of WeSERV, emphasized the importance of community support, stating, "The light bulb exchange will further our mission of supporting our surrounding communities and enhancing our sustainability efforts."
WeSERV aims to exchange up to 1,800 light bulbs, helping the community reduce CO2 emissions by nearly 40 tons annually while saving approximately $10,000 in electricity costs. This exchange focuses on spreading awareness about environmental sustainability and cost savings. To safely dispose of the old CFL bulbs, WeSERV will work with a recycling plant to ensure proper handling and prevent contamination.
In addition to the light bulb exchange, WeSERV is offering a class open to the public and members on Monday, September 9. The Principals of a Healthy Home (from 9-9:50 a.m.) focuses on practical strategies to prevent common home health hazards to protect your home. Seating is limited. WeSERV members can register through the member portal and earn 1 hour of Disclosure CE credit. Non-WeSERV members, if you plan to attend, please call WeSERV at 623-931-9294 to register.
